Why choose hydroseeding?

Hydroseeding is a fast, efficient and reliable alternative to conventional broadcast seeding, drilling or turfing. The seed is applied within a nutrient-rich mulch slurry that gives it intimate contact with the soil and protects it during the critical early stages of growth.

A protective mulch layer

The mulch holds moisture against the soil surface, supports germination and stops seed being washed away by rainfall or surface runoff. On sloping, exposed or freshly cut ground — where bare seed is easily lost before it can establish — that protection often determines whether the seeding job succeeds at all.

Rapid, even vegetation cover

Hydroseeding produces fast, uniform germination across the treated area. That makes it well suited to highway verges, commercial landscaping, housing developments and reinstatement works where consistent appearance and quick coverage matter — both visually and for handover.

Long-term soil stabilisation

As the sward establishes, root systems bind the soil and lock it in place. The result is durable erosion control on banks, embankments, riverbanks and attenuation features that would otherwise be high risk in heavy rainfall.

Suitable where other methods are not

On steep, uneven, very large or access-restricted sites, hand seeding, drilling and turfing all run into problems — slow application, poor adhesion, prohibitive cost or simply impossible access. A hydroseeder can spray accurately from the trailer or platform onto ground that no other equipment can reach efficiently.

Tailored to your site

Every BioSeed application is matched to the project — soil type, exposure, gradient, target finish (amenity grass, wildflower, ecological restoration or stabilisation) and any specification or environmental constraints. See Applications for the kinds of projects we cover and Our Approach for how we plan a job.
